Significantly, Raj Thackeray is nowadays trying to revive his Hindutva politics. After Uddhav formed the government with the Congress and NCP, the Shiv Sena is believed to be softening the Hindutva agenda and Raj Thackeray sees this as an opportunity for himself. He has also recently changed his flag. Uddhav's statement comes at a time when Raj Thackeray has shown strength through a rally in CAA support at Azad Maidan. Uddhav's gesture was towards this rally.
